Pedro asked: Are 13 year olds able to ride motorcycle in the streets?
Answer
No. To drive a motor vehicle, including a motorcycle, on the streets, you must have a driver’s license. The only place a thirteen year old could drive a motorcycle is on private property.
s. 322.03 – Drivers Must be Licensed; Penalties
(1) Except as otherwise authorized in this chapter, a person may not drive any motor vehicle upon a highway in this state unless such person has a valid driver license
s. 322.01 – Definitions
(26) “Motorcycle” means a motor vehicle powered by a motor with a displacement of more than 50 cubic centimeters, having a seat or saddle for the use of the rider, and designed to travel on not more than three wheels in contact with the ground, but excluding a tractor, tri-vehicle, or moped.
s. 322.05 – Persons Not to be Licensed
The department may not issue a license:
(1) To a person who is under the age of 16 years, except that the department may issue a learner’s driver license to a person who is at least 15 years of age ….
