Passing a Bicyclist in a No-Passing Zone
Question
Harry asked: I know other states (WI & PA) have recently passed a law that allows cars to cross the double yellow to give enough clearance to pass a cyclist. Is there a FL law that allows cars to cross a double yellow to pass a cyclist?
Answer
It depends on how you interpret the only existing statute that is applicable. Please see:

Kansas also specifically allows drivers to pass a bicycle in a no-passing zone, if it is safe to do so: http://kslegislature.org/li/b2011_12/statute/008_000_0000_chapter/008_015_0000_article/008_015_0016_section/008_015_0016_k/
BTW, FlBikeLaw, I appreciate this web site. Very informative, even for non-Florida cyclists. Well done!
