Patrol Belt
Question
Howard asked: Recently I asked about placing cards on trucks and cars
parked in the bike lane. This actually works and I have seen trucks move after
finding the cards. I wonder if wearing a patrol belt while riding even though
it has no official meaning can increase awareness of drivers that the bike lane
must be kept safe.
If wearing a patrol belt is not against the law,
what about having printed on the belt “bicycle patrol”. Would that be
legal?
Answer
I know of no law that would prohibit wearing of such belts as long as they as clearly not identified as a law enforcement item.
