Bikes on Collier County Beaches
Question
Jillian asked: Is it illegal to ride a bike, like a fat tire bike or bicycle on the beaches of Collier County? I thought it was illegal, but I’m trying to find it on collier.gov website and it says page unavailable. I’ve always thought it was illegal, but the Naples City Official website has a lovely picture of a woman riding a bike on the shore line sand. Please clarify.
Answer
This is the only restriction that I can find about bikes and the beach areas.
(p) Key Island.
(2) Limited Activities:
-
Hiking, horseback riding, and bicycle riding shall be restricted to trails or roads specifically designated for those activities.
You can search the codes for yourself by Googling “Collier County Muni Codes”. You can also get there by clicking on the “Waterways” heading above.
If in doubt, contact the appropriate law enforcement agency.
No bikes on beach.

Thanks Todd.
I believe this is the provision to which you refer:
ARTICLE II. – COUNTY PARKS
Sec. 246-28. – Powers and duties; offenses.
(b) …. it shall be such an offense to:
